Help me to serve the people of Quincy at the City Council level

David F. McCarthy is your current Ward 1 Quincy City Councilor serving the neighborhoods of Houghs Neck, Germantown, Merrymount, Adams Shore, Quincy Center and parts of Quincy Point. He;s dedicated to the City Of Quincy and his constituents.​

David F. McCarthy  occupation is that of the Defense Division’s Security Director at General Dynamics, a position held with over 35 years of experience in industrial DoD security management.


As both a Quincy resident and the Ward 1 City Councilor, David works on the issues relevant to his community with expertise and skill. Among David’s responsibilities outside of the council, are serving on the Board of Directors for South Shore Mental Health, Board of Trustees for the Carrol Center for the Blind, and his caring for his family of eight children.
